Dogs are being banned from public places at an alarming rate. I find it odd that so many people want to share their life with dogs, and some of those same people claim that too many dogs end up in shelters. Dogs are no longer welcome in many places they were before and one reason dogs end up in shelters is lack of socialization and behavior issues. If dogs were accepted at more places, more dogs would have acceptable social skills. Also, people are not as skilled at relating to dogs as they used to be. Our society has been sending the message that dogs are dangerous, and so when people meet a dog they don't know, they behave inappropriately as well. Allowing dogs in public places helps teach people as well as dogs how to behave properly in the presence of another species.
